Better Than Jesus?

Acts 1:4

“Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised…”

On the eve of His crucifixion, Jesus Christ told His disciples, (who had forsaken their very livelihoods to follow Him for THREE YEARS), that it was to their advantage that He goes away. Wait a minute… What?! How could it have been better for them that Jesus Christ no longer walks the earth with them? What could have possibly been better for His disciples than to have the Teacher with them every step of the way as He has been for the past three years?

Many of us today wish that we could have been among His twelve disciples or even the crowds that followed Him back in His day because, I mean, it’s Jesus! Who wouldn’t want to see Him with their own two eyes, or hear Him teach, and witness Him do miracles, but yet this remarkable statement that Jesus expressed to His disciples ought to really turn our eyes to the One we cannot see, the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Jesus said to them, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” (John 16:7).
