Every Student Goes

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:18-19)

This is the Great Commission that Jesus Himself gives to every one of His followers. Some of us may think only “chosen” Christians are meant to go and make disciples of all nations, but truthfully Jesus has called all of His followers to be a part of His mission. I grew up having many misconceptions of what a Christian was to look like, but through reading the Word of God, I saw that the natural fruit of being a follower of Christ is to share Him with others.

In John 4, we see the Samaritan woman go and tell her whole city about Jesus not long after she met Him herself. Many believed in Jesus because of the word the woman testified. But who knows what would have happened if she did not go and tell her city?

Right now, there are 6,500 unreached people groups (an ethnic group that does not have enough indigenous believers or resources to adequately evangelize the rest of the ethnic group without outside help). Right now, there are two billion people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus. Someone has to tell them about Him. God’s method was, and always will be, His people. Jesus meant it when He said, “go therefore and make disciples of ALL nations,” He did not mean to say “make disciples wherever you feel comfortable”.
