For The Sake of the Son of Man

Luke 6:22 (NASB)

“Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.

The key thing that I want to highlight here as I was reading this passage of scripture is that the reason why there was hatred towards the disciples - why the disciple was ostracized, and insulted, and scorned, and even labeled as evil - was for the sake of the Son of Man, Jesus Christ. My question is, for whose sake are you living? For whose purpose are you driven? The life that is worthwhile, is the life lived for the sake of the Son of Man. May it be for the love of Jesus that you do the things you do.

For this is acceptable and pleasing in His sight when we live and move because we love Him. (2 Corinthians 5:15). So for whose sake are you enduring hardship? For whose sake are you resisting temptation? For whose sake are you pursuing the things you are pursuing? (1 Peter 4:14-16). May it be Jesus, may it be for the sake of the Son of Man.
