God So Loved...That He Gave… - A Call to Missions

John 3:16 (NKJV)

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Notice that the key text does not say that God so loved America, as blessed as she may be. Noticed that Jesus neither said that God so loved Israel, though Israel is the chosen nation of God. But, what does the text mean by God so loved the world? It means that God’s love is for the entire world, for all mankind, for every nation of people, not just prosperous ones. And because He so loved the world, He gave His Son so that they can be given everlasting life by believing in Jesus. (Read Romans 5:6-10).

A Christianity that begins and ends with you is no Christianity at all. True Christianity is shared abroad. True Christianity leaves behind a lineage of souls won to Jesus because of the faithfulness of another. True Christianity has a global impact. (Read Revelation 7:9-10). As I am typing this message, thousands of people across the world have died, and are either enjoying everlasting life because of their faith in Jesus or are in utter misery separated from God forever, perishing for all of eternity due to their sin. (Read 1 Timothy 2:4, Ezekiel 18:20-32, 2 Peter 3:9).

God has an answer for this world and for every nation that has yet to hear the Good News that saves from eternal wrath. The answer is Christians like yourself. The answer is that “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Not merely for your homeland only, but for the world. God so loves the foreign nations that do not know about His Son, that He wants to give them you. The answer for the nations that have no clue about Jesus, is you.
